EU TACSO 3, in cooperation with the EU Office in Kosovo, held a Country Consultation and Validation Meeting on 7th September on the EUCSG 2020 Assessment Report for Kosovo. Dario Di Benedetto, Task Manager, EU Office in Kosovo opened the event emphasizing the importance of this assessment and the efforts of local CSOs.
Tanja Hafner Ademi, EU TACSO 3 Team Leader and Dren Puka, BCSDN National Researcher presented the regional context and national assessment findings for Kosovo, pointing out the effects of COVID-19 in the enabling environment of CSOs in 2020, where the CSOs responded promptly to the pandemic.
22 participants representing local CSOs, public institutions and international organizations participated in live discussions with insights from their experience.
The main topics discussed during the meeting were the challenges in implementation and classification of CSOs funding and reporting, noticing a shift from public to donor funding, as CSOs were in the first emergency package provided by the Government.
CSOs prioritized the need for acquiring relevant capacities for complex projects implementation, longer availability of funding affecting the CSOs work planning, as well as CSOs needs assessment before designing capacity building programs, related to their area of activity.
